Tri-Tronics remote trainers come with an Owner’s Manual containing a thorough explanation of the product, how to set up the product for use, and basic training tips. In addition, a basic training DVD is shipped with all but the Pro units.
We normally suggest that a dog be at least 4 to 6 months old before using the collar. Your dog needs to have a basic understanding of what is expected of him and know the meaning of basic commands.
This can vary among dogs and trainers. It can also depend upon what you are trying to train your dog to do, the trainer’s skill and experience, and the type of dog being trained.
“Continuous” is a constant period of stimulation received by the dog for a maximum of approximately eight seconds or until the trainer releases the transmitter button. “Momentary” is a quick “attention getter” that lasts only for a fraction of a second.
Tri-Tronics recommends that you always start with the lowest intensity level and work your way up as needed.
Yes. Tri-Tronics Field, Pro, and Sport Series products are all designed to be waterproof.
All Tri-Tronics Sport, Pro and Field Series G3 EXP systems provide the opportunity to add more dogs. Depending upon model you can add from 1 to 5 additional dogs. (Sport Junior is not expandable)
All Tri-Tronics systems that use rechargeable batteries are designed with the Tri-Tronics proprietary Quick Charge™ two hour battery charging system. The charging unit, cradles, and adapters are included with the system when purchased.
All batteries experience a normal drop in voltage during cold weather. As a battery powered device, your remote trainer or remote launcher can be affected by normal voltage drops during winter months. We have many tips on our web site for improving performance in cold weather.
