| | Dakota Outdoor Gundog Series (D.O.G.S.) is a hunting competition for upland hunting dogs. In these events, birds are planted in a 10 to 15 acre field. The goal is for the dog to hunt, point, or flush, then retrieve to hand. The competition is split into Pointers and Flushers divisions, with classes for singles, doubles and puppy. Points are accumulated throughout the season by how well you place at each event. At the end of the season, a -Dog of the Year- is awarded in each class. This is a great way to work your dog in the off time from hunting season and gain them the recognition they deserve. It is also a great opportunity to meet, learn and even offer advice to other people that have the same passion for gundogs. |

The club was necessary in order to utilize lands that were in the past probably hunters that gave very little respect to laws and good sportsmanship. It was further formed to protect all properties under its management from becoming a dump to the non-caring people of the area. It was formed to further conservation measures for wildlife and to maintain food and water for all of the wildlife. It will have areas designated for archery practice to become more skilled in the sport as well as field trips during the spring for nature lovers. |
