John is nationally known for his 46 years experience with tree dogs. For approximately 25 years, he made all or most of his living breeding, training, and competing coonhounds in Missouri. John is the man behind the design and manufacture of the revolutionary WICK line of outdoor apparel. Dozens of his ideas have spread through the industry and been produced by many other manufacturers.

He’s known for innovation and his motto, “Everything can be done a better way.” Having written hundreds of published articles in the past 35 years, at various times John’s been a regular featured article writer in all four of the national tree dog magazines. He currently does a six page monthly article in American Cooner magazine. John’s the author of a set of two books entitled WALK WITH WICK=The Tree Dog Encyclopedia. Volumes I and II are available from several full service dog supply sellers. John is a member of the American Coon Hunters Association Hall of Fame and a TRI-TRONICS consultant.
